10/19/2016 5 Comments My Favorite Vacation One of my all time favorite vacations was when I went to Hawaii. I loved Hawaii because there is a beach there called Manele bay that has the perfectly sized waves for boogey boarding. and surfing. Another reason I love it there is because my Aunt and Uncle live there on a little island called Lanai. They live on a closed golf course so we get to drive around everywhere and explore. On one of our adventures, we climbed up a small mountain and looked down on the whole city. You could see the whole island! Another one of my favorites is when we went snorkeling off of the bay and my uncle would name off every fish we saw. My favorite fish was the parrot fish. Below are some pictures from this vacation.
My next vacation is my vacation I took to Colorado. One of the reasons this is my favorite place to go is because my cousins live there. Another reason is because there is an amazing zoo on the side of a mountain! One of my favorite things that I did in Colorado was climbing Pikes Peak. It was a ten hour trip but completely worth it. Although this was one of my favorite vacations ever, I think that Hawaii takes the cake.

10/11/2016 0 Comments The Elevator1. What do you learn about the main character, Martin, in the exposition?
From the exposition I learned that Martin has irrational fears of the elevator in his apartment building. 2. What event sets the rising action in motion? When Martin sees the fat lady in the elevator and she starts staring at him is what sets the rising action in motion. 3. What internal conflict is plaguing Martin in lines 81-84? He is psyching himself out and he is debating whether to get on the elevator or not. 4. What details in lines 88-105 help to create suspense about what might happen? Detail words like "in a squeaky voice" or "quivering" help create suspense about what might happen. 5. What details in lines 121-139 suggest a conflict between father and son? The father seemed very short fused in those lines of the story, as if he was trying to get tired of how scared he is. One of my three character traits may seem kind of obvious but I think it needs to be said, the US president needs to be kind! It goes without saying but some presidential candidates just don't understand what it means to be kind. I mean if you're trying to lead a country, try not to make fun of the people in it. It just isn't going to get you votes. My second character trait is the President has to have at least minimal knowledge of the countries history. Like the fact that there are only 7 articles of the constitution. It just really bothers me when people go out and speak on something they aren't educated about. My third and final Character trait is don't lie. If you did something wrong, just admit to it, don't lie about it, it makes things worse. Not only will you be known as the person that did this but also the person that lied about it. Those are my three character traits that are most important in a US president.
